So it took me 8 days to write my PPA, day and night. About 3 nights i did not sleep at all. Stood up 24 hrs just trying to be a perfectionist.Based on my experience, and my understanding of how important it is to do a patent application right whether its just a provisional or not, I dont 100% agree with the book saying in just 24 hrs of your time you can write a patent (and I'm sure they mean that 24 hrs can be spilt across a few days). You need to take your time. The book gives you almost everything you need to write and submit your provisional.However, I would suggest that they go into more detail on how to file online simply because I had hell with a PDF font error that kept coming up after I uploaded my Specification file. The illustration/drawings went through fine but the full text document was a pain. The book simoly says if you get any errors go back and fix them. That's not good enough. Between my husband and myself, we had to search the internet to figure out how to resolve the problem.To save you the trouble, i will tell you how to fix the Font embedded error that the USPTO website gives you. The website will tell you your font isnt embedded if you save your PDF file the default way. If you just save the document with the settings MS Word already put there you may run into to trouble.What you have to do is click save as, save the file type as PDF, click on minimum size, click options, select under PDF options "ISO 19005-1 compliant (PDF/A)". Hit ok. Then save.Once your specifaction is saved this way, the USPTO website will accept the upload and you will be able to continue.They also didnt make the part about the Application data sheet clear enough. They dont refer to actual document name which i had to figure out for myself. I used the PTO/SB/16 form which is the cover sheet required for the provisional application. If i didnt decide to improve my claims and send a second provisional i would not have noticed that I needed to submit that form just going based off the book. Yes I did not use Nolo's system to apply because you dont have to. They also let you know you can choose if to use their system or not. I guess thats why they didnt give you solid details on all the info needed for the uspto website, maybe hoping you'd use theirs. Thats a huge assumption on my end though.Anyway, I also did alot of online research before buying this book and probably half the things in the book i already knew but it still was a lifesaver in many other areas.I like how they have examples of patents in the book. It is so helpful. Overall, the book helps you out and it is written to help you skip chapters as needed so you can just get the info you want as quickly as possible. They didnt just assume you will want to read the whole book. I also like that they are sample of agreements in there too.The book is good but could be better. It should provide assistance with the challenges that occur with the online application process. I'd give 3.5 stars if i could. But thats it.Also, this book wont help you write a provisional patent application you can later convert into a non provisional patent application. It says so itself, so if thats what youre looking for something that will help you write a patent based on the standard requirements this book is not for you.Remember the provisional doesn't have to be like the standard and official non provisional. So it you want to write a provisional that can be used as a non provisional try a book for the non provisional.

Excellent book written for the common person. It is well written and great attention to detail to help make people successful.

This short book is an effort to respond positively to this challenge of summarizing Christian faith and practice from the perspective of a believer. Even though it is written primarily as a brief description of Mennonite faith and practice, at a deeper level it is also intended as a response to the questions posed by my Japanese friend about what Christians in general believe. "Always be prepared," we read in 1 Peter, "to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have" (3:15). This is one effort to do just that: to give a simple account of the Christian convictions that have sustained the Mennonite church for nearly five hundred years.

This read has been a great encouragement to me and grounding in my faith. I was raised with the Mennonite faith, but have been part of various denominational churches as an adult. I thought this book was easy to understand and hit the core basics of the faith and how that is lived out day in and day out. I needed a refresher on these core beliefs with the greater explanation of why and how they came to be. It has given a refreshed appreciation of the Mennonite faith and how rooted in scripture they/we are.

Another book by John Roth. He wrote both "Stories" and "Beliefs". Either book gives you good insight into who the Mennonites are. I read both books, but found that a lot of the same information was repeated in both books. I would choose one or the other if you don't want to get bored. Both are excellently written, but a lot of the same information is repeated in both books.

An interesting book but not much in it that I didn't already know. If you do not know anything about Mennonite beliefs this is a great start.

Whether you are Mennonite or just curious, this is a great book to read. I was raised Mennonite, but strayed away from the religion when I was a teen- it seemed so old fashioned. But after reading this book, I can say that I really am a Mennonite at heart. It clarified all my questions about where our beliefs come from.Mennonite beliefs are very simple, straightforward, and rather admirable. This book made me proud to be a Mennonite, and I think that any believer could take something away from this book that may help clarify or strenthen their faith.Easy, quick read.

I'm an evangelical and I wanted to see if the Mennonites were really evangelical as they claim to be. It answered most of my questions and I'm convinced that they are indeed evangelical, although some of their practices and beliefs are a little different.

Always interested in various beliefs. This book explains so much of their history and why they live as they do.

THIS WAS A GIFT FOR MY SON. THE CONTENT IS EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND THE AUTHOR IS AN AUTHORITY ON THE SUBJECT. HIS WRITING IS PRECISE AND TRUSTWORTHY.

I am going to dare to be a bit critical here where most comments seem overly praising. This is not to say that it is not well written or unworthy of being read. This book is good for someone without any knowledge of Buddhism who wants to dip their toes in the water; however, for the truly curious, this will leave you wondering if you got any closer to following the practice. I felt that each section was so rudimentary and lacking of reference for further material that a quick Wikipedia search may have been equally as enlightening. Furthermore, I found the title of the text particularly misleading as it did not really teach the reader to "Become Stress & Anxiety Free." In summation, I felt that this text was more of a glossary of Buddhist ideas and terms which would be handy if nearby when reading more in-depth texts. After completing the book, I felt as though I had more questions than answers and was left desiring references to the Buddhist writings and teachings alluded to but never provided. In any event it is reasonably priced and well written for the beginner, so do not be afraid to give it a try; just be cautious that it may not give you the answers you are looking for as I have explained.

This is another well thought out and beautifully presented guide on Buddhism. I have been interested in Buddhism for some time and when I read a trilogy of books that featured a Buddhist, it rekindled my interest and I decided to study more. This was one of two books I bought for beginners. This book went into more detail. It was easy to understand and answered many questions I had about Buddhism.

An easy to read book, but often not easy to understand because of all the typos, grammatical issues, and confusion of terms. This book needs an editor.

A little disappointed as I’ve found a number of typos and spelling errors (and I am only on chapter four). Also, I will sometimes have to re-read sections as I find the flow rambles on and I will lose the point of what I’m reading. That being said, the author makes a lot of easy-to-understand analogies, so it is still useful for the beginner.

The book is a great breakdown is a simplistic and easy to read and understand blueprint for learning about Buddhism. Being new to Buddhism myself, this book lays the groundwork for how to begin living a more grounded and Buddhist way of livin.

This is a very good introductory book about Buddhism. This book is written in a simple language and easy to read. It would be nice to have a glossary of English translation of the ancient words at the back of the book. This book inspired me to read further about the subject.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my 19 year old daughter who is interested in learning about different religions. She’s already read half the book & tells me it’s well written.

Mazzucato has written a timely book in an age in which economists and the public alike seem too often to confuse wealth with value. We once understood price as a reasonable gauge for value, but not anymore. In modern capitalism and globalisation, value can be faked. As a result, we often do not see the difference between people and things that create value and those that extract value. What do financial people do when they move assets from one place to another? Are they creating value or just extracting value? In classical economics, ‘value’ is the result of productive activities. In earlier versions of economic thought, we have Adam Smith’s theory of value based on the productivity of labour. In modern times, there are sectors that do not produce anything except moving existing assets around instead of creating new assets. It is now assumed that anything that has a price has value. How do we verify the claims by large financial institutions that their employees are the most productive in the world? How do we value their productivity when no new assets had been created by them? The conflation between productivity and value is the illusion Mazzucato seeks to dispel in this book. Mazzucato is in no doubt that the financial sector extracts value, and she discusses how it does this. In the chapter, ‘The Rise of Casino Capitalism’, she explains how extraction is done by the insertion of a wedge, namely, a ‘transaction cost’ between the providers and the receivers of finance. They also achieved through monopoly power, and lastly, through high charges relative to risks run, especially in fund management. In the case of economic downturns, what should be done? Should the government intervene, and if so, in small parts or in major moves? Or should the government keep out and leave it entirely to market forces? The author seems to support the Keynesian method of controlled intervention. Some economists argue otherwise, but Mazzucato’s arguments in the chapter, ‘Undervaluing the Public Sector’ is persuasive. Mazzucato examines the current history of economic activities and the impact of technology. In understanding the idea of value, we can better understand the distribution of income among different sectors of society. It is a fascinating book that is a joy to read because it covers economics, including its technical and historical aspects, lucidly for the layman. It takes us through the history of economics and the way ‘value’ had been defined and used, to the rise of the financial colossuses, and how they changed the idea of value and the impact that has made. She discusses the difference between creating value and extracting value, and the role of the government in stabilising the economy when takers (those who extract value) disrupt the economy create false value against the real value of the makers (people who produce value). Mazzucato invites us to determine what sort of economy do we want? In so doing, she explains what markets are and how they can shape the economy – so that we can shape the markets. Technology propels us so rapidly that in the end, we may have reached the end – unless we take control and create an economy that is sustainable not just for markets, not just for takers, not just for ourselves, but for the planet.

Mazzucato is one of the most interesting economists working today. I say this because her project in the last two books focus on a ground-up redetermination of what is important in the economy. To someone like me, who is interested in the social generation and distribution of resources but who think that policy makers went the wrong way in recent years (especially before 2008, see Bernanke to Friedman: “Let me end my talk by abusing slightly my status as an official representative of the Federal Reserve. I would like to say to Milton and Anna: Regarding the Great Depression. You're right, we did it. We're very sorry. But thanks to you, we won't do it again. “) this book is just catnip. So much catnip that I stayed up too late a couple of nights in a row reading it.Mazzucato, in this book, looks at where value was theoretically derived historically from the physiocrats to Smith through Marx and into the marginal revolution. She focuses the critique on the marginalists and the composition of current GDP about how it focus to much on the market – how what has a price has value and nothing else. For Mazzucato, this sidelines non-market institutions like the government which are long-term value creators but left out of market considerations because what they do doesn’t have a price. It is a compelling argument to look at how we analyze “the economy” in a different light.

I bought this book because I read the entrepreneurial state. This book in my opinion in a very easy to understand way for non-economists argues that we have to return to a much more basic question - the question of value creation, what is it and what is it not?The book starts with a theory historical perspective that are incredible easy to understand on how value have been conceptualized. This theory perspective gives a clear guideline to the different perspectives and the development towards a subjective understanding of value and what problems that rises. In particular the consistent discussion of rent seeking or value extraction is important - even though it might for some readers at first glance will be seen as a finance and neoliberal ideology bashing, it works by closer consideration as a tool to positive start a discussion of what value creation really means.By going this way the author succeed in forcing us to reconsider our everyday concepts of the state, and in particular its role in creating long term value and prosperity. Inevitable it comes to question and ask questions of how to define and understand the value of the common good, growth, innovation and entrepreneurship.From a more organizational and sociological perspective she forces us to consider how we run private business, how we extract value from the business both in terms of distribution (top versus other stakeholders). It forces anyone working in business to think if we are just rent-seekers or we actually create some value for all stakeholders.I find this book very helpful to think about politics, economy, sociology and organizational science.

I have several shelves full of books on New Mexico, particularly photo essays, but the most recent addition stands out, and for very good reason. Elisa Parhad's New Mexico: A Guide For the Eyes captures something of the essence of the Land of Enchantment in a way that other books do not. Between the significantly colored turquoise end papers of this small book, Parhad takes us through a pantheon of cultural icons of the state. Some are well-known: adobe, chile, pickup trucks, hot air balloons, and the ocean of limitless blue sky, but also included are the not so well-known. Spending time with this book, one learns of Avanyu, the spirit of a serpent, which folk legend tells us resides in the rivers of New Mexico. There are also pawn shops, which have a surprising and historically important history in the state, and the Ditch Witch, a fictional creation of the Albuquerque city government intended to warn children away from playing in potentially dangerous arroyos, which can become flooded after a sudden rain storm.The visual contribution to this book by an array of photographers is clear, graphic and very engaging. It's amazing how, by focusing on a small detail, the spirit of a much larger subject can be conveyed. An example is the viga. At first look it appears to be a photograph of a Navajo blanket, but we soon realize that the pattern is of the wooden ceiling structure traditionally found in older adobe buildings. The state symbol, the Zia sun, is cleverly illustrated by a shot of rusty license plates nailed to a wall.I would recommend this book without hesitation to anyone who loves New Mexico and reading about American history and folklore. Parhad's writing takes the reader far below the surface detail usually covered in travel books. Even grumpy old Zozobra would love this book.

I have never read a book in which photos actually have their own "voice." I have spent time reading and looking, again and again. Even though I live here and love our landscape, this book deepens it. Full of photos and color, it is in fact a history book, an art study, and an insight into Native American culture. Well done!

This is an amazing book! I've had some friends travel to New Mexico and this is my go-to gift for them. It is better than a guidebook because it highlights all sorts of unique things about the state from a cultural perspective. I encourage you to buy this book if you live there or plan to travel there.

Book format has an image on the left and a brief explanation on the right. Typical New Mexico concepts are illustrated that way, such as food or customs or locations. The book is fairly small, so it may fall short as a coffee table book, but it succeeds as a visual NM dictionary.

In my opinion, this is not a guide to New Mexico...just pictures. Not worth the money at all. Don't buy it if you are looking for a guide to New Mexico.

I love to travel, but I'm not so hot on having my nose buried in a guidebook, reading all the history about every single place we go. What I want when I travel is to have my own experience, but I also don't want to miss anything. My daughter gave me this guide when my husband and I took a road trip through New Mexico. This is EXACTLY the kind of guide a person like me wants. It's like a cultural dictionary of the location that points out what's important in brief, one-page descriptions that are packed with rich detail. I probably would have passed up all the dreamcatchers I saw for sale, assuming they were hokey tourist stuff, but the accessible format of this guide allowed me to enjoy it cover to cover, and so I knew a dreamcatcher, when hung above a bed, catches all the bad dreams, only letting the good ones through. So guess what I brought home to all my friends and family? That's right, you guessed it. I honestly wish there were a guide like this for every city.

I also write about Albuquerque and Central New Mexico for my Bed and Breakfast guests and potential guests, and in my opinion New Mexico: A Guide for the Eyes is a New Mexico must-read. One day a guest bought this book and showed it to all our B&B guests. No one could put it down so I decided to stock them and offer a sample copy in each of our rooms, because this book gives such perfect insight and understanding of the New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment. It is often hard for visitors who are new to the southwest to understand the blending of cultures here, never mind all the new words and nuances because there is so much to take in on your first visit. I recommend getting this book before you visit. The knowledge it will bring you is priceless. The photography is top notch and will quickly lure you into our diverse culture. This book will make you an expert before you even get here. If you are already hooked on New Mexico, having this book in your library will take you back in your mind to all the beauty and wonderment of your first visit to the Land of Enchantment.

About the Author

Carefully researched and documented, Biblical interpretation is always open to question, but this book makes challenging reading if one can put aside preconceptions and follow the logic. This copiously footnoted volume sometimes bogs down in minutia, but often that's what scholarship is all about. Overall it seems to capture the majestic sweep of the Book of Revelation in a carefully wrought, well written exposition. Lots of fascinating facts and insights.

Going directly to the most ancient greek manuscripts, Dr. Able provides a translation of the entire Book of Revelation, exploring nuances and translation issues verse by verse. Extensively researched, with over 250 books and papers referenced in the bibliography, He surveys recent and ancient history and find correlations in Revelations that bring the complete Book to life in a way that few others have done. Highly recommended for any student of the Bible, especially those with an interest in the unique greek of the Book of Revelation.

I Absolutely love it. It is non authoritative yet credible and very rational scholarly work with introductions and and praise from prominent Baha'i authors, rabbis, religious (Christian, Jewish, and Bahá'í) academicsThere's even a review heaping praise on it from Marguerite Sears, wife of Bahái Hand of the Cause of God, William Sears and a prominent and much loved Bahá'í in her own right. It is based on the extensive interpretation of the Book of Revelation from authoritative Baha'i sources.

I'm happy with it and surprised that it's written by a non-Bahai. But the author is a great analyst and brings so many things together with his research. An amazing book to read and own. I love it.

So many questions answered, and I'm only 1/3 into the book! This interpretation sure makes sense to me. It is very enlightening to see how it all fits together. God is BIG! I'm glad I got it in hard cover. Can't wait until it comes in an ebook because it is a heavy book in more ways than one. <3

This book offers as much information / understanding of the coming of the Lesser Peace ushering in the Most Great Peace., as anyone might want to know. It explains the prophecies of the coming new commonwealth of man, something sorely needed right now! Bringing about the cessation of world conflicts/wars and putting in place an economic world wide system of governing that benefits all people is as important a goal as anything. Great read for all people alive on the planet today.

It appears to be very carefully researched and many many themes are skillfully woven togetherto. I have a whole new appreciation and love for the book of revelation. Thank you.
