This book has revolutionized the way I teach now, and my students have noticed the transformation in me. Through this book, I have learned to know my students's learning style and therefore provide the teaching method that is most effective to their learning style. One of my adult students told me that I made a Bible passage so easy to understand when I told them what the Bible Principles are present in that passage. This is what this book is all about, about transforming the minds of Bible believing Christians who want to grow and put their faith into action. I like the word Dr. Richard Melick Jr. and Dr. Shera Melick use to call their teaching method; Transformactional. This book literally transforms the teacher and the students, and motivates them to put Bible Principles into practice. I highly recommend this book to anyone teaching the Bible. This book is an excellent resource that every Bible teacher needs to have.

I taught an OT intensive this summer at the Baptist Seminary in Mexico City. For one of the student assignments I wanted them to write a Bible Study using the content covered in class. However, I wanted to also teach them some exegetical method in the process. I asked a colleague in the Christian Ed. department for a good "worksheet" to give them. "I use 'Transformational Bible Study,' page 161," was the reply. I converted the text to a worksheet and then translated it into Spanish.The students loved it. This Bible Study forces the preparer to ask deep questions of the text, without being esoteric and inaccessible. Even with my poor translation, the principles outlined in the approach were easily grasped by the Spanish speaking students. What cinched it for me was that this method is geared toward a faith response in the recipient. I will continue to use this valuable resource wherever in the world I am called to teach.

This book will be a helpful addition for any lay leader or pastor as they attempt to teach God's people. I would highly recommend this text to anyone leading a Sunday School, Bible Study, Small Group, or Cell Group. You will find a great foundation to add to your teaching ministry. Any pastor looking to improve the teaching ministry of their church should seriously consider this text for their teachers. It covers everything from the foundation of the Bible in teaching and study, to how people learn, and finally giving you an excellent method for preparing lessons.

This book gives a very practical outline for creating a Bible study that will induce self-directed learning. It is especially helpful for somebody who has never taken any formal education classes, but who would like to be a better teacher of Scripture. It has helped me think through the steps that I should go through when I want to lead a Bible study. There is so much more to teaching than just sitting and discussing how everyone feels about something. This book addresses teaching for different learning styles, in different contexts, and teaching creatively. It helps to get your brain started thinking about all of the options for teaching a solid, in-depth, inductive Bible study. I would definitely recommend this book for people who are wanting to be better teachers of Scripture. This book completely accomplishes its purpose of providing a useful manual, with step-by-step instructions, for people who want to teach well.

If you've ever considered leading a Bible study or if you're already teaching and feel that your students are growing bored, this book is a must read. Richard and Shera leave nothing left to question as they begin with the fundamentals about the Bible and proceed to discuss various teaching theories. The last section of their book provides in detail, their method for teaching the Bible. They even go so far as to provide ideas for making your Bible study more interactive and exciting for students of all age groups. Everything one could need to prepare a lesson is provided in the Appendices with examples given throughout the last few chapters. This book has so much to offer anyone who wishes to lead their students to transformative action or as the Melick's would say, "transformaction." It will always be within an arm's reach of my desk whenever I am preparing a lesson.

This book is extremely helpful for anyone who is attempting to teach adults. I've read a lot of books on creative ideas for teaching, but Dr. Rick and Shera Melick get to the core of the problem with Bible teaching for adults. They emphasize understanding and teaching to your learners by contextualizing your lesson to include several learning styles and approaches, while remaining grounded in Biblical truth. Later in the book, they offer a model of how to write a lesson plan that can be understood by all types of learners. I used this model, and it was not only doable, but successful! I will continue to refer to this book for tips on teaching adults.Also, I was surprised to see that this book was offered in kindle edition. I was very pleased with the intuitive nature of this ebook, which I cannot say for some of the other ebooks I've purchased. All around, it was a great purchase.
