This is a nice selection of recipes requiring only a few additions to your pantry staples. With a little adjustment many can be made with food you have on hand. The history lessons bring an important reminder that hard times are reflected in both the ingredients and cooking methods but joy of living flavors each dish.

If you want an alternative to the everyday meal, this cookbook will expand you cooking experiences. There is nothing to be afraid of, just follow the recipes and use the right ingredients and you will produce excellent dishes that will amaze even the best of cooks. So get into the kitchen, bang some pots and have fun while learning how to cook new cuisine.

Since downloading this free cookbook I have probably made over half the dishes and they are all delicious. The Orange Walnut cake is perfectly moist, homemade Challah, Red Lentil Stew, Mafrum, I could go on and on. Everything has tasted fantastic and I can't wait to make more!

Slightly exotic while at the same time being good for you. Easy to prepare with simple to understand directions. And most of all, delicious! What more could you ask? Take it from a mensch who likes to eat; this is a terrific cookbook with some wonderful recipes and excellent ideas!

An interesting book full of good recipes. Quite curiously many of them show a commom ancestry with other mediterranean recipes one finds in books coming from Arab populations such as Lebanese, Syrians, etc. meaning they are probably very old and transmitted from generations to generations before all this insanity between Arabs and Jews was established. Let's hope the two cultures may find a way to live peacefully together.
